Being a Bears fan means knowing that sunny days won’t last long, but man is it on the nose that last week’s parade ends with torrential rains in Chicago.

Or, more accurately, with a Caleb Williams scramble from first and goal on the 6 with nothing but open field in front of him and a Vikings defender in the back.

But then BAM! A mixture of the Madden curse and Bears-fueled fate results in Williams going down in a heap on the water-logged Soldier Field turf.

Time will tell if the pit that immediately settled into our stomach was deserved or just habitual fatalism. We know that Williams suffered a right hamstring injury, but it remains unclear to what degree. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the quarterback will undergo imaging on the hamstring on Monday.

Either way, it looks like the Bears will be without Williams for some period of time and that they’ll start the absence with a 1-1 record after Sunday’s 9-3 loss to the Vikings.
