We’re onto Green Bay.
That should be the biggest takeaway from the Bears’ 23-12 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, an ultimately strange affair that provided fuel for both optimists and pessimists in the fanbase.
Glass half full: Dennis Allen’s defense is cooking, Kyle Monangai and the offensive line are beasts and the team is 3-1 heading into Green Bay week.
Glass half empty: Tyson Bagent’s play won’t prevent a Packers week QB controversy if Caleb Williams can’t play, D’Andre Swift has had a bad start to the season and the team only converted two of seven red zone trips into touchdowns.
I’m decidedly in the optimist camp as we would’ve easily taken 3-1 and a soonish return from QB 18 when offered in the moments following Caleb’s injury just two weeks ago.
