Good morning, Bears fans!

The Bears brass resurfaced in Indy at the NFL Combine on Tuesday and I gotta be honest … I really missed Ben Johnson talking smack about the Packers.

1. Picks for Cunningham after all?

Ryan Poles said the Bears are pushing for the league to do the right thing and award the team two compensatory third-round draft picks after the Falcons hired Ian Cunningham as their general manager last month.

Cunningham himself agreed, saying “I’m the general manager. I was hired. I would think that they get two third-round picks.”

Falcons president (and team legend) Matt Ryan is viewed as the team’s “primary” executive and that may be the reason for the initial ruling.

But props to Cunningham for being a stand up guy and agreeing this really isn’t in the spirit of the 2020 rule that rewards teams for developing minority front office and coaching candidates.

2. Poles non-committal on DJ

Is DJ Moore a foundational piece of the 2026 Chicago Bears or a valuable trade piece this offseason? “We have to look at all scenarios,” Poles said.

Moore is set to make $28.5 million next season and finding a team to take the veteran wide receive would take $20 million off the books.

But as Poles acknowledged, trading a player and teammate of Moore’s caliber would have effects both on and off the field.
