Regression Talk? Ben’s Got This

Chicago Bears/YouTube
I’m at the point of the preseason where I’m tuning out any national preview that can only bring up regression when it talks about the 2026 Bears.
But when Ben Johnson brings up that word through his clenched jaw just before hitting the training camp practice field last Friday?
Oh baby.
You’ve probably already seen the clip by now. Jacksonville coach Liam Coen took a little jab at the NFL about not seeing enough Jaguars content on NFL.com and seeing a surplus of Caleb Williams photos instead.
Someone asked Johnson about the tactics Coen is using to spur his squad, which is honestly just a rumor to most fans outside northern Florida.
“We’re the No. 1 regression candidate, so I think we’ve got plenty of motivation ourselves,” Johnson said in short response.
If that’s not permission for both the Bears and their fans to not be scared of the supposed cliff over the horizon everyone’s yelling about, I’m not sure what is.
