2️⃣7️⃣ Days Until the Season Opener!
Good morning, Bears fans!
We’re onto Cincinnati.
The Bears will head to the Queen City later this week for the first time since Colston Loveland and Kyle Monangai’s breakout games last fall. A joint practice is set for Thursday while the game is Saturday night at 6.
Let’s go have ourselves a week.

Ozzy Trapilo activated from PUP list: For those of you scoring at home, it’s only been 219 days since dude ruptured his patellar tendon and raised thoughts he’d miss the entire 2026 season. Insane. (ESPN)

All Eyes On Monangai

Because this is the 2026 Chicago Bears training camp, bad news was contractually obligated to follow good on Sunday afternoon.
And so reporter videos of Ozzy Trapilo on the practice field quickly gave way to descriptions of an odd run-in between Kyle Monangai and Grady Jarrett.
Tweeted Adam Hoge of CHGO …
“Tough moment in today’s practice as Bears RB Kyle Monangai suffered what appeared to be a right knee injury when Grady Jarrett tackled him from behind.
“They were not wearing pads today and Grady seemed to realize it mid-tackle, attempting to hold Monangai up at the end. He clearly felt bad.
“Trainer Andre Tucker tested the knee on the field and then they walked off together. No cart needed. But Monangai was walking very gingerly.
With all due respect, Grady … WYD!?!
ESPN’s Adam Schefter later reported Monangai “is believed to be ‘fine’” with initial tests showing that his knee is “structurally sound.”
The Bears will confirm via MRI, Schefter added.
Of course, you’ll have to forgive us Bears fans for still holding anxiety.
We heard that Coby Bryant was “fine” from Dr. Rome Odunze a few weeks ago and Schefter’s source put the initial diagnosis at 8-10 weeks.
Bryant’s timeline was later downgraded to 4-6 months.
So yeah, we’re going to hold our breath until this MRI is done.
Monangai has already missed time this camp, sitting out three practices with a soft tissue injury.
While both Roschon Johnson and Salvon Ahmed had solid performances against Cleveland on Saturday, the last thing the Bears need is to start playing around one with one of the position rooms where depth is not a concern.
Fingers crossed.
