No one expected Jahdae Walker to turn in one of 2025’s most memorable highlights at this time last year. A 6-foot-3 receiver out of Texas A&M, Walker went undrafted and signed with the Bears in the hours after the 2025 NFL Draft.

Yet the Bears had enough faith in Walker’s potential they gave him a guaranteed $170K to sign and they were quickly rewarded in training camp. Walker caught two touchdowns during the preseason and was one of the stars in a comeback win over the Chiefs that was more entertaining than it had any right to be.

In the end, Walker was the only UDFA from the 2025 class to make the initial 53-man roster.

But after earning his spot in a deep wide receiver room, Walker’s chances to contribute during the regular season were limited. He played only 86 snaps with 78 of them coming in the final three weeks when Rome Odunze stayed on the sidelines with a foot injury.

Yet Walker sure made them count. The over-the-head catch he made in the corner of the end zone against the Packers on 4th-and-6 was an all-time highlight for the Bears. His ensuing Jubi slide celebration down the back end zone line was a perfect representation of Bears fans’ glee as the game went to overtime.

Walker added a second touchdown two weeks later in a loss to the Lions. For someone with only six receptions and 87 receiving yards on the season, he really found a way to stand out.

Walker’s progression in the offense will be one of the more interesting storylines to track during training camp and maybe the first few weeks of the season.
