Chicago sports fans lost a giant yesterday in Stacey King and I think it’s only right to start this newsletter with a small moment of silence in appreciation of what he brought this city and its fans for almost 40 years.
All of us can learn a lesson from the way he lived his life, no matter if we’re fans, a member of the media or an athlete young or old. Rest in peace, Stacey.

I was having lunch at a brewery in Littleton, Colorado on Saturday afternoon when a worker spied my Bears hat.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in Indiana?” he smirked.
“Not yet,” I said and grabbed my order.
While I thought my trip to the Denver area for a friend’s wedding would give me a break from the Bears bubble, Friday’s Hammond news prevented that.
