Good morning, Bears fans!

It’s a big day for the Bears.

And given how rough it was out in the Bears discourse this past week, we could really use a win to calm the waters a bit.

THREE STORYLINES

1.Which Drake Maye shows up at Soldier Field?
The Patriots quarterback was bad to start the season, but he’s since rebounded. Kacper Rajwa delves into the reasons Maye’s season has been a roller coaster so far and Ryan Droste looks at the difference the Bears’ reinvented pressure machine can make against a shorthanded o-line.

2. Jonah Jackson will make a go of it, but Kyle Monangai remains out
The Bears’ dependable right guard will fight through his hip flexor injury which is great news for a Bears’ rushing attack that will miss Monangai for the third straight game. Can Roschon Johnson replicate everything from his performance last week, except the fumble?

3. Can the Bears keep the good vibes going through the mini-bye?
There are few downsides to having 10 consecutive game-free days in the middle of the season, but sitting with a loss that long is one of them. A win not only moves the Bears to 5-2, but puts them in the right mind frame as they prepare to face the other team from last year’s Super Bowl on Nov. 2.

OUR PREDICTIONS

Kevin Kaduk: Bears 31, Patriots 17
Caleb Williams returns to the Soldier Field playing field for the first time since Week 2 and the conditions should be, err, Prime for a win. The Patriots were sloppy in a win over the Jets last week and missing two starters from the offensive line should allow the Bears’ defense to keep its momentum from last week.

Ryan Droste: Bears 27, Patriots 23
These teams are very evenly matched. I give the Bears the edge due to home field advantage, continuing momentum from Caleb and Kyler’s returns, and the litany of injuries the Patriots are dealing with on their O-line and in the secondary

Kacper Rajwa: Bears 30, Patriots 27
The keys to this one bank on how well a banged up Bears D-line fairs against an also banged up Pats O-line. If the Bears can get home on 4 man pressure, then I don’t see why they can’t win.
